Outside Sales Rep

Position Description

JD Martin has an exciting opportunity to join the Alabama sales team as an Outside Sales Representative.

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving assigned sales quotas and goals for customers located within a defined geographic territory or account list. This includes prospecting and developing business, responding to RFQs, and preparing proposals for customer presentations.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage assigned territory: Huntsville, Alabama, and surrounding areas. Candidate must reside in assigned territory.

· Establish and grow account/end user relationships to ensure territory goals are met or exceeded.

· Establish a presence at the electrical distributor, contractor, and end user level to promote brand awareness and build customer loyalty.

· Train and educate customers and end users on the applications, features, and benefits of our manufacturer’s products.

· Coordinate and attend trade shows as the Company spokesperson.

· Arrange and conduct strategic planning meetings with assigned electrical distributors.

· Provide product and services training for electrical distributors, contractors, and end users.

· Perform other related duties as required.

· Daily usage of CRM tool and opportunity management systems.

· Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers across multiple organizational levels.

· Territory travel is required, including overnight stays and occasional after-hours events.

Qualifications

· Education:

Four-year degree or equivalent experience.

· Experience:

4–7 years of prior sales experience. Experience with the electrical distribution channel or a similar distribution channel preferred. Demonstrated track record of successful contractor sales.

· Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.

· Strong listening skills with the ability to maintain focus, extract key information, and validate understanding.

· Understanding of commercial, residential, industrial, and data-center markets.

· Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think and act like a business owner.

· Natural leadership abilities and a teamwork-oriented approach
