Inside Sales Gears Quotation Specialist

JD Martin continues to grow in the LV/MV switchgear markets.

Are you an experienced switchgear quotations specialist with the ability to interpret specifications and one-lines? Are you able to work with contractors and engineers to value engineer projects that put you in a position to win business.

What You’ll Do

· A gear quotation specialist is responsible for reviewing bid packages, formulating project quotations, and providing product knowledge.

What we’re looking for:

  • · Experience quoting moderate to high profile/complex projects that require a high level of product knowledge
  • · Ability to review bid packages and all the requirements surrounding the package including technical requirements, approved manufacturers list, commercial requirements, project drawings, and documentation requirements
  • · Ability to prepare and submit a final proposal with all required documentation
  • · Ability to negotiate pricing with suppliers and offer value engineered solutions where applicable
  • · Ability to participate in product meetings, seminars, and training schools to enhance and maintain personal product knowledge
  • · Ability to gather and track feedback to be used to identify areas where pricing needs to be adjusted for future successful bids
  • · Ability to establish and maintain relationships with customers, channel partners and manufacturers

Skills and Knowledge

  • · Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • · Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence
  • · Ability to assist in project design without manufacturing assistance
  • · Ability to identify, read, and review project drawings (one-lines, gear specifications.)
  • · Intermediate to advanced computer skills, specifically with Excel/Outlook/Word, /PDF editor (Blue Beam or Adobe) quote tool, and design software
  • · Ability to collaborate at all levels; including senior decision makers with customers and vendors
  • · Work well within a team environment as well as independently with little daily supervision
  • · Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and be self-motivated and enthusiastic about business
